Another brilliant piece from a GUNNAS WRITING MASTERCLASS WRITER
Writing is painful. This is normal. Its not that you are a shit writer – its just really hard to write. Well here’s the thing: life is painful (at times). Choose a high quality form of pain. Choose the pain that is going to move you to where you want to go. There’s the
pain of avoiding where you want to go, or there’s the pain of taking the steps. You get to choose – no one is making you do this. Writing is like a long haul flight in an economy seat. Its not comfortable. But if you want to see new places, the economy seat on the plane will get you there. If you want to create something using the medium of words – ACTUALLY writing is the way to do it. If you want to create anything, actually making the thing is the way to do it. Waiting for the right conditions is like waiting until you can afford to travel first class before you decide to go to Paris.
If you want to be sure that it will be worth it – forget it! Writing is uncertain – there are no guarantees. Maybe what you make actually won’t be very good. Maybe it will just be a bunch of words. But so what! Perhaps you will find a new place and you will see something new.
